Following the initial concept design by Martin Johnson AA.Dipl, Mitchell Evans were appointed to take the scheme forward — developing a full set of detailed construction drawings and delivering the project through to completion.

Working hand-in-hand with our clients Soul Space, and in collaboration with interior designer and creative agency Raw Clay, quantity surveyor Isosceles, our role was to transform the vision into a finished building.

The result is The Boathouse: a distinctive new destination that reimagines an Arts and Crafts building on the riverside in Guildford. Designed to sit naturally within its River Wey setting, The Boathouse now provides a vibrant hub for the community, with co-working studios, meeting rooms, and event spaces, alongside a thriving café.

Blending heritage character with contemporary function, the project has created an inspiring environment for people and businesses to connect, collaborate, and grow.
