• Tell us something about you that not many people know

  Like Sam, I have also landed a light aircraft.
  Unlike Sam, I nearly crashed it into a shed after I landed.
  I have also recently lived in Bangkok for 18 months.

• Where and what did you study to get yourself where you are today?

  I had a bit more of an unusual route for what is considered more typical in this industry having learnt ‘on-the-job’ rather than studying. Over the years I’ve learnt a lot from those around me, through first-hand experiences and directly from very knowledgeable people.

• Where have you worked previously?

  I previously worked for an Architects practice based in Weybridge, for almost 10 years, starting as an assistant and working up to Associate as the company grew from 4 to 16 people. Before that I spent 6 months on a building site as a labourer and working for my dad’s company as a draughtsman.

• What is your favourite building? (It can be anywhere in the universe)

  The sci-fi guy inside me would say ‘the restaurant at the end of the universe.’ But the adult in me would say St Pauls Cathedral. Not because of a religious reason, but because of the engineering skill involved with the domed roof and how iconic the building has become.

• How long have you been working in this industry / how long have you worked at MELLP?

  I started at Mitchell Evans LLP in July 2024 and I have worked in the industry for around 12 years.

• What do you want to be when you grow up / what did the ‘6 year old’ you want to be when you grew up?

  When I was younger, I wanted to be a fighter pilot but I get air sick, so perhaps not the most sensible of ideas. After that it was rock star.
