New Build Residential
Shamley Green
In response to the brief the design has taken its influence from the traditional Arts & Crafts houses of Voysey and Lutyens and employs an informal ‘butterfly’ plan orientated to make the most of the southerly aspect of the site. In addition, this plan locates the new house within the sheltered ‘elbow’ created by the tree lined bend of the lane to the north of the house. The new house is located largely over that of the existing dwelling and seeks to take account of the sloping ground levels of the site by employing stepped ground floor levels internally and stepping out onto the rear terrace. The house is constructed from roughcast stone with smooth windows surrounds , oak framing and a welsh slate roof.
