This project consisted of a ground floor side extension to an existing 1930s detached home to provide a gym, shower room and artist’s studio.

A vaulted extension with sunken flat roofed gym, which links to the existing detached garage to the front, was designed with the rear studio opening out onto the new landscaped terrace and new swimming pool via sliding retractable corner doors. The extension was clad in black stained vertical larch boarding with a plain clay tiled roof to match the house incorporating contemporary frameless roof lights. The new extension was linked to the main house via an extended side lobby and utility space, connecting directly into the existing kitchen.
