Our client’s brief was to design a new 6,500 square foot character house that sat well in its rural setting overlooking fields and paddocks, to replace the existing house.

A new Arts and Crafts style property was conceived to be constructed in two phases to overcome the local planning restrictions. The house comprises six ensuite bedrooms, with an open plan kitchen, family and dining room along with a feature helical staircase within the large entrance hallway.

The second phase works included a 30% extension to the new house which was constructed during the course of the contract for the replacement house to ensure a cohesive appearance to the property as a whole. In addition the phase two works also included additional stabling including the required equine facilities of tack room, wash box and solarium. Adjacent to the stabling was a two bedroomed groom cottage that was designed to complement the architecture of the main house.
