Mitchell Evans were commissioned to design a substantial classical country house for a rural site that had previously been used as a post-war care home.

Considerable efforts were made to ensure an authentically designed and detailed modern Georgian property and natural stone, sourced from the Peak District close to Chatsworth House, was selected. The main house accommodation comprised an impressive reception hall, formal dining and drawing rooms, a large kitchen/family room and study with nine luxurious bedroom suites split across the upper stories.

In addition a magnificent leisure suite was provided in a separate but linked building which included a snooker and games room, a home cinema, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and two lane bowling alley, plus two large ‘sleep-over’ bedroom suites. Attached to this building are two staff apartments and a five car garage arranged around a secluded courtyard. Extensive landscaping was also undertaken including a new sweeping driveway, lake and formal gardens around the property.
